Joseph Rodgers & Sons Straight Razor
$150.00
This is a Joseph Rodgers & Sons straight razor with a barbers notch quarter hollow ground 6/8 blade. The tang has the royal mark with 'Cutlers to their Majesties' stamped into it. The blade is etched with 'Patent Hollow Ground'. Based on the tang it would have been made during the reign of Queen Victoria, probably mid to late 1800s. The scales have been replaced with new buffalo horn scales with new brass pins and washers.
I've included a pre-restoration photo of the razor, this is no indication of what the razor currently looks like!
Joseph Rodgers & Sons was appointed cutlers to His Majesty King George IV in 1821; chosen as one of 5 firms to make cutlery specimens for presentation to the Duke of York in 1826.
This razor has been restored and is shave ready.
